It feels wrong to tell you how lucky we were for good weather this last Saturday, June 22nd at the Humboldt Farmer's Market. Storms were on the radar and were supposed to last through the end of the market. After the early morning storm the weather cleared perfectly for the market. It was very humid until the breeze picked up a little bit. It feels wrong to tell you it was a great day as record breaking floods are happening around us. I know we're all thankful for the early break in rainfall on Saturday, though.
We had a slower planned market this week knowing that I wouldn't be able to stay for the whole market to be at an additional event for Three Rivers Kringla (Sammi and I's at home bakery business). We had live music planned, but with potential rain they decided not to risk it. We don't blame them at all.
This week's kid's activity was one to take home. I'd designed our very own coloring book last year, so we printed some out to hand out to the first 21 kids with a small pack of crayons. Sammi told me she handed them all out in no time! If you missed the chance to get a coloring book you can download it HERE.
We had a great group of vendors set up with us this week! We knew the plaza would probably be too soggy to want to set up in and with the possibility of rain we were able to get the majority of our vendors under the awnings East of the plaza, from Uptown Humboldt Mercantile to the Post Office.
Our Vendors
(East to West)
We may not have had as many vendors as we've had at other markets this year, but we had a great variety of awesome vendors to shop from!
Tre Photo had a customer appreciation event accross the street that went on from 10am-3pm. They even had the Scratch Cupcake truck visiting! We didn't know that was going on til vendors were setting up, but it made for double the reasons for people to come downtown and have a good time!
We may have had a chill planned market last Saturday but our next market is our largest one of the year...ARTS FEST!
Saturday, July 13th!
It's our second annual Arts Fest at the Humboldt Farmer's Market. Arts Fest is something the Humboldt Area Arts Council has done many, many times throughout the years. It's a great, fun event we love having at the Humboldt Farmer's Market!
There will be a Kids Makers Market and crafting stations for kids of all ages! The street will be blocked off for all our fun! We'll also have a ton of vendors to shop from, Ardys Mae Coffee & Dessert will be joining us again, and more fun we'll be announcing on our Facebook page!
Until then stay safe, be kind and we'll talk soon!
